There are not many restaurants that open in New York City that can take on the character of old school New York like The Corner Store. The lighting concept was to bring back that classic atmosphere, like it is your favorite local neighborhood restaurant.
Each light fixture was meticulously selected to not only enhance it’s cozy and intimate vibe, but also to subtly shift with the rhythm of dinner service, creating the perfect mood for guests.
As guests arrive at the corner they are invited by the warm glow of the restaurant. At the main bar, a combination of light sources was thoughtfully placed to create an elevated classic theme. Above, hangs a custom ribbed glass pendant with perforated metal shades to illuminate the bar. Bottle displays are highlighted and flanked by a warm-toned lightbox. Textured glass sconces accentuate the elegant glassware below.
For the middle dining room, we were tasked with designing this to be the most intimate space in the restaurant. Featuring textured glass pendants and seat dividers that diffuse the light with a soft glow. Warm flickering candle lights throughout the tables add to the intimate atmosphere.
