Our Favorite Light Sources

Often, when I’m wide awake and everyone else is dreaming, my friend the moon comforts me through sleepless nights and sometimes scary ones. To me, this friend I’ve known forever, is the best kind of light, naturally beautiful and perfect for night owls like me. It’s the light stays with us when power fails us.

A light fixture challenges the traditional way of emitted light, which is a simple exposed bulb. With a light fixture, several components come into play. The shape of the fixture affects the way that the light source is projected. It can be hidden or reflected off a surface. Different types of materials used for light fixtures are important because they affect the quality of the light and set different moods for a room. Different metal finishes interact in unique ways with each lamp. The complexity of these elements come together to make a space pop and merge the light source into the room. For me, a light fixture is an art piece that utilizes the light source to emphasize the beauty of both the light and space.
